WAYS TO SAVE MONEY ON YOUR VEHICLE

Apart from servicing your car regularly, there are a variety of ways to save money on your vehicle and keep running and repair costs down.

  1. With the end of financial year looming (not sure where the last 5 months have gone!) if your vehicle is used for business we recommend having it serviced before June 30 so that you can claim the expense in this financial year. Read more about this on the ATO’s website here!

  2. Check the pressure in your tyres regularly. If you’re between services and want some help with this, just drop in when you’re passing by and the boys are more than happy to help. Low tyre pressure can cause the car to work harder and therefore burn more fuel to keep up and this is one easy way to save money on your vehicle. It is also very important to replace tyres when required to reduce the chances of being involved in an accident. With the roads now wet and slippery, the risk is much greater.

  3. With regular servicing, your filters are replaced taking the pressure off your engine and avoiding costly repairs later. Over time, nasty sludge and grime can build up in the engine which is cleaned by these filters. Once they get full, this sludge remains in the engine and continues to build up and affect the vehicles performance. By spending a little money now, you’re making sure you won’t have to spend a lot later! Be sure to always get these filters replaced if recommended to keep your engine happy, healthy and running well.

  4. Having your timing belt replaced as per the manufacturers log book is imperative to avoid costly repairs. If the timing belt fails, the result is often catastrophic engine failure and the inconvenience of being without your vehicle (plus the costs of getting around without it!).
